About Penland Farms

Horses and cattle have always been a part of our lives. Based in Western Pennsylvania, we raise American Quarter Horses and have been concentrating their efforts on finding good barrel racing lines to develop.

From the time she was a small child, Beth showed horses and is the recipient of numerous trophies, prizes, and year-end-awards. She has belonged to numerous horse affiliated associations throughout her life such as 4-H, Western PA Riding & Driving Club, Horse-Lovers of America. The Penlands are current members of the Penn-Ohio Barrel Racing Association, National Barrel Horse Association and the International Barrel Racing Association. Beth is also a life-time member of the AQHA. She is a past Treasurer for the Penn Ohio Barrel Racing Association. Beth also held the position of the Pennsylvania State Director for the International Barrel Racing Association from 2003-2005 and was a PA State Representative for the IBRA association during the 2005-2007 barrel racing seasons.

Beth showed successfully a number of horses from a young age, concentrating in the beginning years on Western Pleasure and Horsemanship and is now focused on the great sport of barrel racing. She was a recipient of the Warren County 4-H Scholarship, the Warren County Foundation Scholarship and was also awarded the Buckeye Leadership Scholarship. Beth graduated from Slippery Rock University with a B.S. degree in Secondary Education- English.

Mason is becoming a well-recognized barrel racer. He has had great success with Jolena Rey Smooth, Whirling Fastcat and Mr. Two Treys at shows around the region. Mason is looking to gain more experience and put more wins under his belt! Mason has been working a couple of colts here at the farm and has a string of nice horses that he will begin hauling to races this summer.

Our facility includes an 120 x 55 indoor arena, wash rack, tack lockers, large outdoor arena, outdoor round-pen, pasture shelters and more. We do offer horse boarding and have a variety of trails for you to explore; our current boarders are all long-term boarders. We also sell hay throughout the year. Call or e-mail us for availability.

We also offer limited horse sales. If you are interested in what we may currently have for sale, feel free to call and talk with us in person. We encourage people to come watch the horses and talk to us about the strengths, weaknesses and history of the horses. While our emphasis is on barrel-racing, we may also have available horses that we feel need to go in a different direction. Feel free to have a vet come check any horse that you purchase. We hope you are so happy with your horse that when you or your friends need the next one, you'll be back!

Come visit us in Western Pennsylvania!
